Detailed Event Description:

Join us for an evening of contemplative reflection and visionary insight at our New Year Reception as we celebrate GABA’s 40th anniversary and shape iGABA/AHK’s and all our 2024. Voxalis Opera will perform a special performance that features baritone Camilo Lopez, Co-founder and Artistic Director of Voxalis Opera. Alongside renowned pianist John Woods, they will perform "Mein Sehnen, mein Wähnen" from Korngold's Die tote Stadt; as well as, "Dein ist mein ganzes Herz!" from Lehár's Das Land des Lächelns.

The night will unfold with a cocktail reception and welcome by iGABA Chair Tea Dietterich and AHK Executive Director Marco Walde followed by a thought-provoking panel discussion themed “Creating Future Histories: How to ensure the impact of tomorrow’s actions.” Esteemed panellists will unravel the fabric of history-making, share insights into their organisation's landmark achievements and discuss where history informs or constraints our future ambitions. The Lord Mayor of Brisbane and Deputy Premier will provide a local perspective, pondering the long-term legacy of the 2032 Olympics and present the strategic steps we must take today to transcend the benefits of the event.

Following this, we will showcase the "BMW Midjourney Video,” a fascinating visual journey from BMW’s early days to its current status as an industry innovator. This showcase of BMW’s evolution through design and technology will set the stage for our BMW panel speaker, who will discuss the dichotomy between past and future histories and how BMW prepares for the unpredictable.

The evening will culminate with audience interaction, led by our facilitator Prof Michael Rosemann who will invite comments from the audience on potential history-making moments we might anticipate from their organisations in 2024.

This is not just another panel discussion. It's an exploration into the art of creating legacies and the shared journey of shaping our future histories.

Key Insights:

  • How to create enduring impacts beyond momentary achievements.
  • Ways to replicate the momentum of historical milestones.
  • Not perfection, but preparation: The new strategic mandate.

Do not miss out on this ambitious start to 2024 and to be inspired by leaders who are not just living in the present but are actively designing our future legacy.
